Goodbye, Dear Friends

Tonight is my last night in our Washington home... and I don't think I want it to be. I am going to miss my dear friends here so much. What would I have done without the amazing girls I've met and come to love here? I'm so grateful for the worldwide family I have by being a member of the church. No matter where I go, I know I can find friends there. I've also been blessed to have some wonderful neighbors - Martin Avenue is a great street to live on.

I have learned so much from you, dear friends. You have made me better by your examples and good attitudes. My consolation in moving is that I can try to use the things I've learned from you to better myself and those around me in Utah.

Here are just a few of the things I've learned from you:
*Listen to others with genuine interest and concern, and don't be afraid to share your real self with them.
*Love everyone with a Christlike love, and forgive them as He would.
*Be open and giving with your home and possessions.
*Be a devoted friend. Hear what others say and do something to make their lives better.
*Don't forget the forgotten ones. Reach out to everyone. First impressions are not always right.
*Enjoy the "here and now" (even if it costs a little more money on occasion!).
*Life is happy when it's at an easygoing pace... don't be all scheduled and tied to a cell phone!
*Be spontaneous (take advantage of a sunny day at the beach instead of staying home to do laundry).

That is just a sampling of all you've taught me, but I am so grateful for you and will remember you always.

I WILL be back every summer to visit - but I sure wouldn't mind visits from any of you if you happen to find yourself in Utah. :) Please keep in touch!

How about, "do your very best to clean up the mess you started when you spoke without thinking first"?

(I just wanted to be on your list. You don't really have to add that.)

;-)

I LOVE YOU!!!!

I'm still in shock that you're leaving! Give me a few more months and it might sink in. You have left some entirely-too-large-to-fill shoes. I think I'll try Manchester out barefoot.
