Okay, so it's not ours, but we're pretending. We rented out this cute little house in Emigration Canyon a few weeks ago. As of today, the snow is nearly all gone. It's got oak floors and granite counters in the kitchen, and our bedroom is downstairs away from the kids' rooms (which is great!), but the best part is the little creek in the backyard. It is SO relaxing to listen to, paired with the sweet little songs the birds sing in the mornings. I am way excited for spring in the canyon. There are more bicyclists on this street than cars, and it's close to the zoo and downtown Salt Lake. It was so awesome of my parents and family to welcome us to their home for a few months, and we appreciate it so much. But we are happy to be our own family with our own identity again, and have Jon's commute much shorter. This will be a nice place while we figure out what on earth we're doing here!
Our bishopric stopped by tonight to welcome us to the ward, which was wonderful. They were really nice and told us all about the Canyon... this ward has some cool traditions, like an Easter weekend campout in the Canyonlands (St. George) for the whole ward every year, a 30-mile hike for the Young Women (a much-coveted activity by a lot of YW I know), and "church in the canyon" on the Sunday before Pioneer day, where they actually meet out in the canyon for church. It sounds really neat. AND they even have nursery figured out: 6 women are on a rotating schedule for 2 months out of the year. Ingenious. :)

You are a blogging superstar again! I miss you so much around here. I hope you love the new house, and the privacy. Just wanted you to know that we all think of you often up here.
Love the nursery schedule. But it probably helps to have a lot of members.
Sounds like an awesome place!
