Jon and Eve have both recently received their report cards, and so I have to share!Eve has flourished in preschool this year under the wonderful tutelage of her teachers, Ms. Cinnamon and Ms. Chris. They are incredible! Eve is such a smart little girl. She can write her own name and identify about 20 letters of the alphabet (a skill which is expected from a beginning kindergartener). For a 3 1/2 year old, she is doing fabulous! Eve has really grown socially, and loves being with her friends. She loves sharing all her new-found skills and talents (don't we all?) with anyone who will listen or watch. Eve's favorite color is yellow and it shows! She loves to tell people that yellow is the prophet's favorite color, too (it's true - he said that in a Press Conference). Those bright yellow shoes surely reflect a happy personality!
Jon came home last week with a smile on his face and a stack of papers in his hand... he'd just received his annual "performance review" from his boss, and it went really well. It is a 13-page document all about Jon's performance as a manager at Amazon.com, full of quotes about Jon from peers and upper management from across the company. One of my favorites is: "Jon's sense of priorities is spot on with that of doing the right thing... Jon is apolitical, not interested in building an empire, but rather making sure that his engineers are supported and able to be successful." What a nice compliment - and that was just the beginning. I really thought it was neat to get a glimpse of his daily work life and how others view him. He has worked really hard at being a good manager this year and I'm so proud of him for that. I'm especially grateful that he provides for our families spiritual needs, as well as temporal. What a lucky girl I am!
