(There's No Place Like) Home For Sale

Well, in case you hadn't heard the news yet, Jon got a new job in Utah! Congratulations, Sweetheart. So that means we are selling our wonderful home and moving from this beautiful place. Aside from our incredible friends, neighbors, and church group, who have all been an amazing support for us, I am just going to miss this PLACE...

I am really going to miss the trees and ferns and just all the green. I'll miss the rain and the mild weather and hearing the toooooooot of the ferries and the barking of the seals (we can hear them from our house!). I'll miss Eldon's messy face from eating the berries that grow wild all over our yard. I'll miss watching Eve squeal with delight watching crabs scurry from under the rocks on the beach. I'll miss driving through the "tree tunnel" where the tree branches create a canopy over the road, and visiting the tiny Manchester Library where we love to check out books. I'll miss looking over the gorgeous water to Seattle while the kids play in the sand or hunt for shells. I'll miss the abundance of state parks and forests within 20 miles of here, and the hiking trails. I'll miss Jon's 4-times-a-week bonfires in the backyard and all the cool things he's made out of branches for the kids to play on or with. I'll miss watching the bald eagles soar overhead. And I'll miss that sense of peace and satisfaction and gratitude I feel while I'm breathing in the fresh evergreen air and taking in the beauties around me.

BUT, I'm hoping for a new kind of beauty in Utah, and for less commute time for Jon and more family time at home with him. I'm hoping for a fun new home to make our own. I'm hoping to see my kids play with their cousins and grandparents and aunties and uncles. I'm hoping to meet some new wonderful friends and neighbors. And I'm hoping to feel that peaceful satisfied gratitude again.

Here's hoping! :)

Unbelievable! The moment we decide to put an offer on a house in your ward, you decide to up and move! I can take a hint, Sabina. I'm going to miss you so much.

Wow. Can we buy your house? Why would you ever want to leave that all behind?? It sounds like my dream come true. We are THRILLED to have you here, though. Cheers!

Happy, Happy Birthday Sabina!!! We were camping in the mountains yesterday, and I wasn't able to give you a birthday call as I would have liked, but I thought of you all day. I hope you had the most wonderful birthday! You are so amazing. I hope to be able to see you soon! May the coming year be as special as you are!
