On the SIXTEENTH day of Christmas

We hosted our preschool Christmas party today. I guess it wasn't much of a party; we just ate and visited and let the kids play - and they sang Jingle Bells to their moms and gave them a homemade ornament... but it was fun. Now I need to find a new preschool group here!

We played in the snow -again!- and watched a couple Christmas messages (the ones you can see if you click the links on your right). I really liked the "What Shall We Give?" one.

We read a little nativity storybook tonight. Don't remember the title/author, but I'm too tired to go find it right now. Sorry!

I am now going to attempt to work on Eve's Christmas gift - one of those heirloom-quality wood doll houses. It has 17 pages of instructions, and millions of tiny pieces to cut and glue and paint and varnish. What have Jon and I gotten ourselves into? Fortunately we're building it together. I read the instructions last night that tell you how to make the sliding windows (yes, they really open and close), and wanted to just throw the whole thing out! It will be an absolute miracle if this thing is even half-way finished by Christmas, yet we are pushing forward with it. Wish us luck! And kids, don't try this at home! (At least, not unless you start in March!)
